I have a negative image of the Christian religion. But I don't know why I think so. It's just an image. I was invited to an English conversation class at a church by a missionary. Then, I thought I wanted to go, but at the same time, I had a fear that I might be urged to be a Christian? But today, Mr. Furuta said you don't have to be a Christian when you join their work. So I felt easy. And I’ll approach a problem from various angles. I learned "improvisation is important." I want to be a flexible person.

Today, I was impressd with the way Mr.Furuta spoke. His way of speaking had the power of attracting people. For example, rising and falling of tones, timing, gesture and look, and so on. When we want to tell people something, there are many necessary things. Thanks to his speech, I could feel some of these things.

Today's class was really interesting. His English was easy to hear, and sometimes he spoke in Japanese. I wondered why TPW members invited him to their concert? The answer is because of his character. He is an attractive person. That's why he could have a good relationship with TPW. "It's not a waste of time, whatever I've done." From his speech, I came up with this idea. From this autumn, my job-hunting started. From today on I think I can be confident in my job-hunting.

[TITLE]To be considerate of others
I was interested in black people's group system. Now Japan is a democratic country and people decide one thing discussing many times, but in the case of a tribal system, a leader decides almost everything. At first I thought that this system would depend on the leader's ability, whether it would go well or not. However, the leader is also considerate of the members, which I thought was very wonderful. The only gospel song I know is "Joyful Joyful." I wanted him to sing it! Anyway his singing was awesome.

[TITLE]To be prepared!
I can learn many important things from his speech. His job is very nice. He bridges two different cultures, between African American culture and Japanese culture. He gave us interesting information. He said that African Americans invented useful things which we use in daily life. That’s a new story to me. African American's thoughts are wonderful. They can come up with new ideas one after another and practice them. This idea is called "Improvisation." I was moved by his words "Nothing is wasted!" From now on, I'll try to improvise in daily life.

Today's lecture was so impressive. I learned about African American people and also heard gospel music. I’m learning about African American in another class too, so the speech of Mr. Furuta was greatly meaningful. He said that he often talked to himself to improve or keep his English ability. Now I have little opportunity to talk with foreign people, so I'll try to do it like him.

I enjoyed listening to today's lecture very much . I am interested in his ability in speaking. Of course, his lecture was easy to understand because he used Japanese in spots. I felt, however, he was full of confidence in himself and also enjoyed speaking. He tried to please us. So, I became interested in his lecture. I was able to learn not only today's theme, but also how to attract people in presentation.

Today, I learned African American culture and the way they think. Mr.Furuta said, "African American people take a lot of time and energy to reach their destination. But Japanese people want to get there by using the least time and energy." I was so impressed with his word: "Nothing is wasted." Even if I go a long way, I want to get some skills. And I decided to try everything aggressively.

It is the first time that I listened to a speech from a Japanese evangelist. I was very surprised because he was such a merry and interesting person. He spoke Japanese many times to make us understand what he said. However, I think he has international ideas. I respect him because of his attitude to another culture. It is difficult for me to get used to another country and culture, but I want to do it. I'll remember his word: "Any actions has meanings."

I was surprised to know an African American made traffic lights, and I thought a traffic light was one of the symbols of African spirits. Though African Americans have good improvisation and wisdom, I think they did not have it originally; they acquired it under the hard situation such as violence and hunger. I want to have African spirits and survive the tough situations that I am facing.

I was moved by his speech, because there are many people who can speak English fluently, but there are few people who can speak English and have a lot of knowledge about cultures or backgrounds. It seeemed he had a gerat confidence. I think it's because he had a lot of experiences in his life. I want to change or try something, but usually I don't have any confidence and I can't start anything. However, I'll be positive and start as soon as possible even if it's a small thing. Thank you very much.

Listening to today's lecture was very interesting! Thank you for today's speech. I didn't know about TPW, but it's activity and its leader (I forgot his name) are so fantastic. I feel good if I can get a nice place like this organization. And I also feel improvisation is important not only for black gospel, but also for our daily life.

[TITLE]Black Gospel and African American People "Lift Every Voice and Sing"
Today's lecture was very interesting and I laughed many times. His speaking skill was wonderful, so I became absorded. I haven't known African American culture. So I was surprised. A lot of them invented useful tools. I was also impressed by the culture of improvisation. I always think whether it is true or it is a wasteful thing. However, this idea is wrong. I'll try not to give up everything. Moreover, I want to reach my goal trough I do something that it is not useful. Thank to hearing his speech, I can see different ways to live.

[TITLE]What I learned from his talk
I thought TPW has a grand power because his purpose of life was changed. And his brother also has it. I belive he has opinions about people, at least I agree with him because he has a clear purpose. I learned the purpose of life is very important, and also l earned there are cultural differences; it is natural. I feel this idea makes me flexible to other peoples.

He was a very interesting man! His English was very fluent. It was easy for me to understand about African American people and black gospel. Every week, speakers spoke only in English. But today he spoke Japanese too. So I understood so much. And his song was very sexy! I want to sing like him. Many sentences which he told us were very nice! I love them. I'd like to speak bilingually or multilingually! Thank you for your speeches.
