Today's speech is the most interesting one I have ever heard! Japan and China are very close, but there are many differences in personality, idea, politics, etc. I'm especially interested in the differences in ways of studying English. Japanese, including me, are good at reading, but not good at speaking or writing, that is, output. What we need is the power of expressing ourselves. I will study further keeping your advice in mind.

I'm learning Chinese, and it's difficult for me to speak Chinese, and also English. But you spoke English very fluently. Recently in a class, an international student from China said, “Chinese is a speaking language, Japanese is a writing language." So I think that is one of the reasons why Japanese are not good at speaking in English. But listening to your speech, I want to speak in English more fluently. I'll try to follow your advice.

I could enjoy listening to today's speech. I felt affinities with her because maybe she is a student too. I think China is the closest country in many ways. Maybe the learning conditions and environment are better in Japan than in China, but Japan has lower TOEFL scores than China. I thought in Japan, we study a lot of grammar and reading, but we don't study pronunciation and phonetic signs enough. Since I became a university student, I have trouble about them, so I think Japanese should learn them first.

[TITLE]How is China Different from Japan?
Today's lesson is interesting to me because I want to know the differences between Japan and China, especially in English education. I understood that English education in China is better than that in Japan, because China places great importance on pronunciation. I think it is very important and it is a weak point for Japanese. We didn't learn pronunciation so much except people whose major is English. I think Japan has to improve English education.

I was impressed by her speech. First her English is really excellent. I studied English in England but it was really difficult to be fluent. And still my English isn't good enough, so I want to keep brushing it up more and more like her. And second, her motivation and character are so sweet. Even though I have experienced being abroad, I'm quite shy and I haven't done my best. So from today I want to change my attitude toward English. Of course I'll do my best to improve my English. And also I want to have a chance to talk about many things with my foreign friends. Thank you for your speech.

Today's lecture is so interesting to me. I learned the similarities between Japan and China. For example, Doraemon is loved by everyone in the world. Mr.Kawabata is one of the greatest writers in the world. I was surprised. Before today's lecture, I think there were many differences between these two countries. Democracy or socialism, Declining Birthrate or The One-Child Policy, The passion for improving English skills and so on. So comparing two countries is very interesting. I think Thank you.

I really enjoyed Miss SONG Wei's speech and was amazed at her English. China is very different. Chinese people start to study English earlier than Japanese. I think Miss SONG speaks very well because of this point, and she also seemed not to hesitate to speak. I should imitate her!!! I think all the speakers I've met in this class said about this point, "Try, Try, don't be shy." This is the point that Japanese students have to improve.

[TITLE]Swim in English!
As I listened to her speech, I was motivated to learn languages. I was impressed by Chinese style of English learning. All of my Chinese friends are really good at speaking English so I wondered why, but I got answers today. I'd like to try to swim in English to keep my English skills. Recently, I was losing my motivation for learning languages, because it's difficult to improve soon. However, her words, pain past is pleasure, and English is never the goal, cheered me up really. I want to communicate with Chinese friends in Chinese and want to read books in English. I remembered my aim again. Therefore, I'll try to swim in languages like English and Chinese!

The words in today's lecture were a little bit difficult for me so I thought I have to improve my vocabulary. The story I'm interested in most was about the cell phone vibrator. I got to know for the first time that the vibrator is like a very small wheel and the factory for that is in Nagoya. I admire again that Japanese technology is wonderful.

Today I was really impressed by her speech. She knows a lot of things about Japan. Maybe she is really interested in Japan. I respect her because I'm majoring in German but now I only know a few things about Germany. That's too bad, I think. I should do much better. Maybe she's studied so hard. It's not easy to learn a foreign language. I really respect her!!! To learn English or another language is just a “way" not a goal. That's really right. I think so too. Now I can speak a little German, but it's only my step towards doing something!!!

I'm interested in the fact that Japanese are bad at speaking English, according to the TOEIC results. I think one of the reasons is poor pronunciation. This presentation tells us how Chinese students study English. Chinese students study phonetic signs since the initial stage. In Japan it is only experts in English that study English pronunciation. I suggest Japanese should reconsider the way to study foreign languages like English.

Listening to her speech, I thought English education in China is more practical than in Japan. I also thought that Chinese are more serious than us about studying English. This may be one of the reasons why Chinese economy has been powerful in the world while Japanese economy in recession. We should have the consciousness that we have to carry the future of Japanese society on our shoulders.

Today's speech was so interesting! I was surprised that Chinese people know many Japanese people and animations. And I was also surprised at English education in China. China is close to Japan, but I think I don't know China well. I want to know about China more.

[TITLE]How is China similar to and different from Japan?
She is a very cheerful person and I enjoyed today's lecture. I was impressed by listening to her English because she was so fluent and didn't look she had difficulty in speaking English. I think she is making so much effort, which makes her English so good. I've already got a job starting next April, which doesn't need English. But I will keep studying English to be able to speak like her.

[TITLE]How is China similar to and different from Japan?
Thank you very much for your interesting presentation! I didn't know about China well until today, but today's speech was so interesting and I really enjoyed it. I was inspired by the maxims in foreign language study. There was a maxim: "English is just a tool, not a goal." I thought it's a very nice maxim. I'm studying English and French now, but they are just tools to speak with many people. I like to communicate with many foreigners, so I have to study these languages to communicate with them better. Thank you!

I had a strong negative image about China, but it was decreased by today's speech. I sometimes see the news in which Chinese people criticize Japan with anti-Japanese feelings, so maybe I came to have this bad image about China. But Japan has many good points, and China does, too. We can cooperate together. I thought we have to overcome historical negative legacies and recognize each other. I'd like these two countries to cherish friendship more.
