国際文化 1年[TITLE]Today's speech was just what I've wanted to hear! I'm really interested in English education in elementary school. I didn't agree with the idea, but after taking this class, I think it isn't so bad. Actually, I misunderstood the idea. I thought teachers teach English grammar in elementary school, but it was not true. Mr.Ota said English ability is improved by speaking. I think it's a good idea, but I feel that most students aren't trying to speak English even in oral communication class, so I think teachers need to change the Japanese students'attitude.

That is why English is so important in the international society. He said that we have to continue studying after we graduate from university to keep our English skill. Students are learners and also teachers are learners. In short, we are all learners forever.

She tried to use English in her class, but it was too difficult because every student could not understand English conversation. That's too bad. But I guess today's educational system won't be changed as long as entrance exams exist, because English teachers have to help students to enter school and communication skill isn't defined clearly for the tests. How to develop that skill and give all students the same opportunity to get that skill are difficult problems. I'm interested in becoming an English teacher someday, but I am worried about how the English educational system will change.

In school, we should acquire a base of learning and after graduation, we have to keep learning on our own because the world changes rapidly. People must have not only knowledge but also a feeling or kindness and power and health. I would rather read long passages in English, memorize a lot of English idioms and words. Communication skill is essential but it is difficult to compare it to each person in entrance examinations. Communication skill will not take root as long as there is an English exam in Japan.

You use too much Japanese in an English class." In those days, in English education, Reading & Writing were the main. So, the exam's score was important!! I didn't learn English for communication. But I need communication skill in English. I expect a new course of study and teachers of future in Japan. thank you for today's lecture.
