[TITLE] Revealing Secrets in America
I've been interested in the work as a journalist after I watched the movie "Blood Diamond." I look up to journalists because they can find out the fact someone hide. But I guess revealing secrets sometime hurts people, so it's kind of tough to keep working as a journalist.

I was interested in war criminals. I was glad to hear about that. I want to see "watashi wa kai ni naritai." I thought spies were fiction, because I often see them in the movie. His speech made me exited. It was a precious experience. Thank you.

Today's lecture was a little bit difficult because of words such as NRD and SUR which I don't know. However, it was such an interesting class!! The words he said -"Be skeptical; Be pragmatic; Our own culture" were very impressive for me. I'd also like to read his book if I have a chance to.

Thank you for your lecture. I couldn't understand all, but I was very interested in your talk. I thought I can't be a spy when I heard important things for spies. I like secret talks, but "secret" may control the life of other people. So, I respect you and your job. Thank you very much.

Mr. Haruna'a story was so interesting. I thought he was very very serious and adventurous. He is always looking for truth and reality. I can't imitate his action, but I want to follow his attitude attacking the problems seriously.

Today's lecture was a little difficult for me to understand but so far I have known that journalists and spies are quite different. However, if someone asked me what is the difference between journalists and spies, I thought I couldn't answer it. Now, I do understand that journalists are working for democracy, not for the country.

I think journalists are very hard. He is an international journalist. I think it is very hard than I expect. But I'm very interested in it, because international journalists can know a lot of things even though it is very dangerous.

This lecture was too difficult for me to understand. The speaker spoke very complex words and the speech was formal. I wish he had given us a paper which is written with simple words, and I also wish he had used the screen. I understood a little, because I was not interested in spies, war criminals or American politics.

I also found that my vocabulary is very poor. I must study English vocabulary.

I know about war only through a class at school or the TV news. When I study about war or watch the news, I have my thoughts about war. But I know only the surface information. But today, I could know about the back side of war. I was very surprised that many unfair operations have happened.

Mr. Haruna talked about the Iraq War. Prime Minister Koizumi didn't criticize it openly nor other countries either. I had a doubt about it. I hope these inequalities will fade away in the future.

Thank you for your talk. It was a very very interesting story because I have never got such a chance to know. I felt that he has a very strong mind. I want to ask more about how we should make countries, play a role in politics, and communicate with foreign countries. What does he think an ideal country or world is like?

That's most interesting!! Thank you

[TITLE] Revealing Secret
Revealing secrets is very complicated, because first of all, we must think about the result that remains to us after revealing them. Is it a help to us? Do we feel happy? Or maybe it just leaves us only a piece of fuzz...

So I guess it's not always a positive thing and also to do so, it will need so much courage and some special power.

From this point of view, being a journalist is a job that provides us with a spirit of romantic adventure.

[TITLE] The Impression of Today’s Lecture
I was interested in Japanese war criminals after WWII. In the movie named"Watashi ha Kai ni Naritai," the man who Mr. Nakai played was ordered to kill U. S. soldiers. He was executed for that, but those who promoted the war weren't. That was so unfair. However, these situations can happen in politics.

Just once, I've read one of the articles from National Archives which was distributed in a course on original text reading. I'm going to read it again.

Mr. Haruna said that a scoop was a big achievement for journalists. I think a scoop is rare and difficult to find. Finding a scoop should need much energy and patience. They may have a dangerous experience as he said so. If I want to be a good journalist, I'd need not only literary talents but also courage.

I was so surprised at the facts concerning spies. These occurrences sound like a novel, but actually they broke out. So, we should learn about them and never let history repeat itself. Many countries are up to their tricks in pursuit of their own benefit. What should we do to construct a peaceful world?

[TITLE] Revealing Secrets in America
I saw a movie on TV last month: "The Mission Impossible." In the story, a former CIA agent fights to get NOC lists. When I saw the movie, I didn't know about them. But by hearing today's speech, I came to know how important they were. Today's speech was very interesting because I could learn about an unfamiliar world as well as the similarity and difference between spies and journalists. I thank Mr. Haruna for his speech.
