[TITLE] (President)Sasaki’s Lecture
I think this lecture is really worth listening to. England is different form what I thought it was. The story about trains in England and at the airport is really incredible. But the more I know about England, the more I want to visit there.

[TITLE] My Language Experience in England:troubles and findings
When I was a junior high school student 1st grade, I went to America for a month as a homestay. At that time, I was surprised at the difference between Japanese English pronunciation and the native pronunciation. I don't know much about British dialects, but it attracts my interest.

I want to go abroad to study too. So this lecture is very useful for me. I thought accent is very important to speak. I should learn not only grammatical construction but also conversation. And I also want to eat fish and chips!

It was a good opportunity to listen to the president's lecture. I wouldn't even think about seeing him in person at the university campus! He seems very kind and friendly. Thanks you for the lecture.

I look forward to listen to other lectures too during this course.

[TITLE] My Language Experience in England:troubles and findings
I think his lecture is very interesting. In this summer, I went to England to study abroad. I stayed in Bristol for a month. When I talked with my host family, I had a language trouble as Mr. Sasaki did. I asked my host father "Can I take a bath?"

But he said "What? Sorry I don't understand what you said". After, the host father said "In England, people say usually 'Can I have a bath?'". I had a good experience.

[TITLE] Please Give Your Courage!
It's serious! You are a man of courage. When the baggage was lost, if I had been you I would have got very upset. I thought, you went to London full of worries. If I get your courage, I want to travel around the world, to meet many people and make friends with them. Finally, I thought, it is important to enjoy cultural differences and not to refuse.

I really enjoyed your lecture. Also, I was in England, Chichester, north part of England so I understand about your experiences with the PRO. I had almost the same experience. One day my host father said "Do you read "paipar"?" I couldn't get it, but finally I got his words. He meant "paper." hahaha! I love British accents even though it's sometimes so hard to understand, but it's so "Lovely"!

Anyway thank you for today's lecture! Cheers!!

I think that the Cockney accent is very difficult, because I couldn't understand what Robert said. When I heard that, I didn't think it was English. I thought it was another language. To hear his speech, I want to go to London. I have to learn any kind of accent to communicate with a lot of people.

I had a good time. Thank you.

[TITLE] What I learned today
Because it is difficult for me to listen to English, it was hard for me to understand this lecture. But I could get a lot of knowledge today.

For example, I didn't know there are many accents such as Cockney accent. And I learned that going abroad is very important. So I want to go to Germany soon and learn German accents and English accents.

It was really interesting to hear your story. Thank you very much. I also have stayed in the U.K. to study English in spite of being in the department of French studies. Your story reminded me of my memory in the U.K.

The most interesting thing of your story was about the accent. Because I didn't experience many accents of the U.K. Next time I go there, I would like to experience various accents around the U.K. and pick them up.

I was happy to know what our president was like by listening to his presentation. When I was listening to his experience in Britain, I remembered the three years I spent in the U.S.A. I struggled in communicating with the American people such as my teachers, classmates and neighbors. The thing that I was impressed with was that the president strived to communicate with all the people he had met, although he had had a hard time understanding their different ways of speaking English.

It was very interesting to know about many different accents in England. I visited Vietnam this summer for 10 days as a volunteer, and had conversation with the Vietnamese volunteer staff in English. Vietnamese had a special accent too. President Sasaki said it takes 20 minutes to understand the accent, but for me it took about 2 days!! But now I really miss the Vietnamese accent and I find it nice that there are many "Englishes" in our world.
