[TITLE] Bird Protection in Japan and the UK
The pictures of birds were very wonderful! I was not interested in birdwatching. But I wanted to think about bird protection through his speech today. If I have a chance, I would like to watch birds in this university.

[TITLE] To Watch Bird is to Know Our Planet
To hear today's topic, I thought that bird watching does not only make us fascinated but also tells us how the earth is going now. If we keep on polluting the earth, in the future we may not be able to watch birds. If I have an opportunity, I'd like to step into nature and want to watch birds.

His presentation was very interesting, because his preparation was really good. Every nice picture helps our understanding. Birdwatching is just a hobby for some people, but it is a good chance to consider the problems about nature and environment.

He said that tetrapods should be reduced. I think so too. The other day, I watched a TV program about tetrapods. Tetrapods disturb the sea turtles laying eggs. When I knew the fact, I felt so sad. Tetrapods have to be removed not only for birds but also turtles.

Recent days, we see many advertisements about environmental economy but I noticed that we normally don't care about it, because we don't know how beautiful the real nature is. Today, Mr. Edmunds' presentation taught me the real nature, the problems which Japan is facing and many beautiful birds. Actually, this is the first time to see the birds and I didn't know their beauty. I didn't know I can see 40 species of birds on campus but my interests about ECO has become bigger.

Thank you very much!!

[TITLE] Why Birds? Why Birdwatching? Why Bird Protection?
I didn't know all of the birds introduced today. I thought Ruribitaki is very beautiful. And I thought that Yatsugashira is a little scary because it looks like there are many heads. The lecture of Mr. Edmunds was very humorous and exciting. I was surprised to know there are over 40 kinds of birds in Aichi Prefectual University.

Finally, I thought it is important to protect nature for protecting birds.

His talk was very pleasant, and he told us what birdwatching is like.

I've seen many birds in my hometown, but I don't know what they are called. Next time, I want to study a little. Now I'm very sad because many trees are cut down all the time for us, and many wildlives lose their home including birds.

I like to see birds flying, so I don't want to decrease the number of birds. In my future, I want to protect nature as much as I can.

I didn't know that there were 600 kinds of birds in Japan. I only see birds such as pigeons, crows, sparrows and a few kinds of birds. I got interested in birdwatching. The speaker told us the Japanese environment was changing and birds were decreasing. This is not only bird's problem, but also many kinds of animals.

I have been to England and I went to the sea, but I saw no tetrapods. Why did Japanese people construct many tetrapods? I think we don't need tetrapods.

[TITLE] About Taking Photos & Pictures
Firstly, I was surprised because I didn't know the existence of RSPB in England. So, I didn't know some manners of Japanese bird watchers and it set me thinking. I like taking photos and pictures (although subjects aren't birds...), but never did I think my attitude and manner. I thought it is important to think "we are allowed to take photos and pictures."

Today, I really understood I must not interrupt other animal's life and enjoy with good manners!

I'm living in Gifu (Sakahogi-cho, kamo-gun), so I was surprised that in Gifu there are so many beautiful birds which I've never seen. I've seen some birds around my house, but nowadays I haven't seen them so much. If it's because of the environment changing...we should do something right now!

One question! Which place would you recommend to us for birdwatching?

[TITLE] Bird Protection in Japan and the UK
The lecture was fun to listen to with great preparation and jokes.

I am afraid that I had very very little knowledge of birds. When I hear birds' chirps, I wonder what bird makes the sound because most chirps are beautiful and make me comfortable.

The sketches are beautiful! It shows your love for birds. Those birds would be happy to be sketched by you, but not happy to be taken a photo by those bad mannered cameramen.

Today's story was easy to understand and very good, because he explained using some pictures, drawings and books. Above all he was so unique and told jokes. I was very happy to hear a native speaker's speech. There were some difficult specialist words. But I had a very good time. Birds "Nogoma" and "Yatsugashira" were so cute. Because I like animals, I want to observe them. I was so excited.

It was a very interesting presentation. Actually, I had almost no interest about birds, but to see the beautiful pictures of birds, I felt I want to see birds too. Not in a zoo but in a forest. In Japan, many endangered animals are sold on the black market, and many of those animals are killed all over the world to sell in Japan. So we Japanese are also some of the offenders in the killing of animals. We have to change those bad circulations.

I am happy to have taken his lecture, because I was not familiar with birdwatching. His speech was filled with wit and humor, so I got interested in wild life activities like birdwatching. I did not know that there were 40 species of birds in this campas, Kendai. His speech made me notice that the earth was not only for humans but also for all the other animals and plants. I will open the window wide in my room to look at what kind of birds are living around me.

I thought the jacket had a lot of pockets. It was funny that there was green tea and energy food. Anyway, it suits you!! :)

You said there are a lot of species of birds on this campus, and I was very surprised. Next time I walk on this campus, tomorrow, I really want to look with attention.

By the way, some of your pictures were very cute! I thought the birds show a lot of expression, too. I live in Gifu, too. I'm happy you love my home town.

Finally, I thought it is very important for us to have a hobby in our lives.

Actually I wasn't interested in birdwatching at all and the image about birder was "Kohaku Utagassen" which the speaker mentioned to us at the beginning of his speech.

After hearing the story, I was very ashamed of myself being blind about this theme and hearing the situation of "Yacho-no-kai" in Japan from a foreigner. I thought that we should have a more open mind in order to get interested in any topic that we've never been interested in. Thank you for your beautiful pictures.
