I was moved by Mr. Sasaki's ability of speaking and reading English. He seems to have had a good experience in England and learned a lot there. However, he must have studied English a lot in Japan in advance because he said he had read some books written in English. When I was a high school student, I couldn't read a book written in English. So, I have to try hard to be better in reading books. Today, I had a good time during the Q & A session with many students asking interesting questions. So, I wondered if we could have another meeting with the president and have a Q & A session discussing the system of this university. Anyway, I'll keep up with my English study during my winter holidays.

[TITLE] Interesting Lecture
I had a really rare opportunity to hear a presentation of the head of our university. I was glad to be here today! It was an interesting speech with many pictures. I was surprised that there were so many various English accents, especially the sound of "LL." I thought that even if we speak the same language, we can still misunderstand one another. I learned about not only English but also Mr. Sasaki himself and our university. It was a good lecture.

[TITLE] The Most Interesting Lecture I've Ever Attended Before!
I got nicely influenced by Mr. Sasaki's lecture! I'm glad to know how wonderful his personality is. I'm interested in the life story of a person who has experienced a lot of things, so today's lecture gave me a lot of enjoyment. In the end of this lecture, he received many questions. I think his job is a heavy responsibility. So, I'd like to tell him that I appreciate it very much.

[TITLE] Experience of Struggling with English
I've struggled with non-native English myself. When I had a hamburger heat up at a shop in Heathrow Airport, a clerk said to me, "Name, please." However, I thought she said, "Nine, please." So, I asked her "(Do you want me to) sign my name?" But she answered "Nine! Nine!" After that, other customers helped us. I realized it was difficult to communicate with non-native speakers. However, it's also interesting!

[TITLE] My Language Experience in England
The presentation was very friendly and nice. I could hear Mr. Sasaki's opinions about the plans of this university. It was impressive. His experiences in England were quite interesting. I think the students in this university will be interested in his story, so it is good if we could read it in the press letter of this university.

[TITLE] About My Request of This University
Today's lecture was very good for me. And I have a request. Please invite more foreign students. I want to get friends who are from around the world, for example, Spanish, South American, African and Asian. I think if this university does that, we can become more international as students.

[TITLE] The Head
Since I decided to join lecture, today is one of the classes I have anticipated most. I've imagined how our president's lecture will be going and, moreover, how much he would speak English. After his presentation, I realized he is one of us who made a great effort to speak English. However, I learned a lesson from his lecture through his smiling and cheerful voice. I sometimes become nervous when I speak in English, but I found there's no need to be afraid to be an English speaker.

He Really Gave a Speech in English :
I couldn't absolutely believe that our president gave us a speech in English. But today he did give it!!! I didn't know he majored in British study and liked English. I know, he is really bright because I heard about him from Prof. Okuno. His speech gave me courage to read books which are written in English. I've bought two novels written for children, but I haven't read them excusing myself with "I have no time!" I have to read not only books for classes but a lot of books which will give me a wide view on the world. I use commuting time to read books. Books are important for students. I really felt that is so.

Thank you for giving me the opportunity to sit in on a lecture at this university. I thought Mr. Sasaki answered the questions about merging departments, night school stopping in 2009 and lack of foreign student presence very well considering he probably wasn't expecting such questions today.

[TITLE] Fresh, so…
I thought our president was a difficult person, but today I know he's a very friendly person. I was very surprised that he remembered each day of his life in a foreign country very clearly. I've never been abroad, but in a foreign country, all things may be fresh, so they are remembered forever. I like speaking more than listening…but listening is more important, I think.

[TITLE] Broken English?-―No, It's MY English!!
It was a good opportunity to listen to the lecture of our head of university today. I was impressed by Mr. Sasaki's personality which is warm and a full of humor.

I have lived in the U.S. for one year. As Mr. Sasaki said, I also encountered lots of dialects of English. I used to go to a language school and American Community College, so I thought I should acquire American-English. However, my host family told me that I didn't have to do that. They said that I should speak Japanese-English which is accepted all over the world. At that time, I realized everybody can have their own language and dialect even when speaking other languages.

[TITLE] The Chance to Know about Our University!
I met Mr. Sasaki in April but I have not met him since then. So today's lecture was very good and a rare chance to meet Mr. Sasaki and listen to his English! I enjoyed his lecture very much because I could know about his personality, career and even about this university! I want to listen to his lecture again and talk about our university.

[TITLE] The President of Our University
Today, for the first time I heard Mr. Sasaki speaking, and actually he turned out to be a very nice and friendly person. It was interesting to hear about his surprises and experiences in England.

Moreover, it was good that he promised to expand the student exchange. That's great. The budget is always a problem, but I think we can stop the air-conditioner. In summer, it's freezing in the classroom, in winter it's even hotter than a summer day!

It was a great pleasure to have such an opportunity to listen to the president's speech. Frankly speaking, I have not imagined Mr. President Sasaki is such a familiar and great person. I was very impressed that he reads English papers and books even thought he doesn't think it is necessary for the head of the university to keep learning English. I assume that learning English should be a part of his daily life. It would be ideal for me that learning English become a part of my life.

[TITLE] My Experience in London
Thank you for your wonderful lecture. It was like a traveling in your memories in England.

I've been to England and I found a lot of difficulties in their English. I stayed at a B&B in London and the owner spoke Cockney, I guess. It was really difficult to understand. In Oxford, people spoke English in a different way from in London. Still it was difficult to understand British English for me.
