[TITLE] Globalization with English
I was surprised that IT industry in Chubu, especially Aichi and Gifu, is decreasing. I think English is a very important skill to communicate with people when Japanese companies expand their business to other countries. And she said "What is important is to communicate clearly and understandably to your listener." The words gave me courage.

[TITLE] Work-sharing with Other Countries in English
I know India is very famous for IT. I realize many countries, such as Vietnam, Thailand, including BRICs are in progress. In the future, we will work with these countries using English.

[TITLE] Non Perfect English Is Fine
So far we have had several presenters who told us that we donft have to speak correct English to communicate. And this time again. Ms. Nativadad said the same thing and also told us that the importance of communication is to tell our thoughts clearly to our listeners. Her words encouraged me so much.

[TITLE] Interest in the IT Industry
Since I want to be an interpreter, I didnft actually have any interest in working in the IT industry. But through todayfs lecture, I thought working in the IT industry isnft such a bad idea because both speakers were really lively. I thought they were proud of their activities.

I had a hang-up about my British accent since I had lived in England before, but now Ifm sure that I want to use my English as a tool of trade in the future.

[TITLE] Make Your Working World Wider
Ifm not familiar with the IT industry, but it was a good opportunity to hear about it. It is said that Japan has a great influence on the worldfs information technology, but it has some problems as well. One of them is related to language. However, according to Mr. Minami and Ms. Natividad, the company provides their employees with trainings to adapt to various work situations. I think diverse languages sometimes cause disadvantages, but Ifm sure that learning to speak them makes onefs working world wider.

[TITLE] Communication with Colleagues from Foreign Countries
Ms. Natividad said her colleagues hadnft talked to her very much because they were too shy to speak in English. (Maybe that was because they were afraid of making mistakes.) But by looking at her talking with such a big smile, I had no idea why she hadnft gotten along with her colleagues. Also, by looking at Mr. Minami side by side with her, I was sure that their relationship as a boss and his junior staff member was good. This is because they communicate with each other well. Besides, even if we cannot talk in Japanese or in Tagalog, I think we can build up good relationships with a little command of English plus smile and gestures!

[TITLE] -
Since I didnft know about the IT industry in Chubu, I was surprised that the IT industry in Chubu area is stagnant. Although this lecture about the IT industry was difficult for me, it was nice to obtain some new knowledge. Cheryllfs experience was also interesting. Now I want to talk in English more without caring about grammar.

[TITLE] Globalization in IT Industry --- with or without English
It was pretty interesting to listen to the people in IT industry because it is the most unfamiliar field for me since I'm terrible at math and science. I knew that SMEs are in a difficult situation, but I didnft think that IT companies are also in the same situation of which I have thought as the most successful industry in Japan, or in the world currently.

I was glad to get to know that English skills are also needed in IT companies. It gave me another choice for the future and raises my motivation to master English.

[TITLE] English Is Not the Only Common Language
I happen to work at a place where people form Asian countries come to study Japanese. Some people do speak English, so I have no difficulties communicating with them. But on the other hand, some people do not know any English words, nor Japanese. This is a place where Japanese is the common language, but English does help us in communicating with each other. Itfs good to see people learn Japanese and speak more every day. That makes me feel like l want to study/learn their language.

[TITLE] Language is Developing by Our Adjusting
It was an interesting lecture, as I could hear about IT industry and about English. As far as English is concerned, it was interesting to hear what Cheyll said: Language is developing by our adjusting. Most of the people we had invited for lectures say we donft have to use perfect English. I think English is only a tool to communicate with and whatfs more important is trying to communicate.
