I didn’t know about aircraft manuals. Today, I learned that one airplane was made by many different companies all over the world. Now, I understand why aircraft manuals have to be produced according to “Specifications”. It seems very difficult to obey STE rules perfectly, but a misunderstanding by even one company may cause some defects, I feel making clear aircraft manuals for companies all over the world is necessary to prevent accidents.

It was quite surprising that there are alumini of this school who now work in the field of aviation. The two speakers had different majors, but they’re now working in the same company. I have never heard of STE and aviation industry generally, so it was kind of hard for me to understand. However, I learned two main lessons about today’s presentation. First, it is important to do a job that interests you. You need to do something that you really like. Second, English is really essential to our future. English is spoken worldwide, therefore we really need to study, and to be able to communicate in English if we want to connect to people all over the world.

I’m really surprised that English is very important point for chuozuken. Chuozuken ask employees for at least 800 points on the TOEIC test. But I’m really happy to attend this lecture because I could realize that what I am leaning in this university is important for my future. So, I want to develop my English skill even more!
I am astonished that a manual for an aircraft includes 40,000 to 100,000 pages. And its English Structure (STE) obeys a lot of rules to easily understand the manual.  I was really happy when I heard that our hobby can lead us to finding work. Because I like drawing too! So I want to continue it.

I took an airplane this summer for the first time to go to Thailand. Until then, I only saw planes flying in the sky, and I didn’t know much about them. So today’s presentation was new for me, and I found one interesting thing.

I think the same thing can be said about daily life or other things as about airplanes. I read many books to gain knowledge, but sometimes I can’t understand the meanings. If I explained the topic to people in the same way, they’ll go bored because they can only hear the words. “Simplicity is necessary not only for English or airplanes.

Thank you for your presentation, I enjoyed it. I have never heard the word, “STE”. When I head this word in the presentation, I thought it’s a technical term. However, STE is one of the controlled languages that removes ambiguity about English. In your presentation, I tried STE, but I couldn’t translate well and I thought it’s very difficult. So, I thought it’s very difficult to get a qualification for STE. Today, I’m happy to listen to this presentation.

Thank you for your presentation. I learned that that it’s important for airline industry people to use STE in aircraft manuals because everyone must understand technical documents. If technical documents had complicated or polysemous words, some people could do something wrong and it might cause a big accident. I think STE is like a universal design because everyone in the activation industry around the world understands and uses it. Thank you.

Before I listened to the lecture I thought that today’s topic would be something like mechanics, why airplanes flies, like that, but what I learned was something more than that. I learned “STE” is something like a language. This “STE” is used on manuals to make the directions exact and easy to understand. I felt this is really fantastic because it has a very big power because using it can make it simple to communicate and easy to understand. I felt really surprised to know “STE” and wonderful to know there is that kind of tool!

Today’s seminar was kind of familiar to us because the speakers are stil young and their profiles were interesting. Their company would be one of the possibilities I think about my future job. And the STE exercises were so much fun. It’s really hard to choose the proper STE word because we know the common English but we have to translate it into STE. As they said at the end, I thought it’s important for us not to focus on only English but to combine English and some other specialty.

I’m glad that I got a chance to listen to their speech. I didn’t know anything about aircraft manuals so everything they told us was new to me. I was impressed. It is not easy for us to translate normal English, but what they do for their job is even harder. I’m so proud of them. They made me think that I should study English harder because I’m hoping to work as a nurse in the U.S.

First of all, thank you for your presentation. I think most of the people here don’t know so much about the Aviation Industry, so it was a new topic. I didn’t know that making Aviation Manual is a job, so someone who likes airplanes and has some specialized English vocabulary can work in this job. Also, I think making manual in simplified English is important because in an emergency situation you need to understand the aircraft specifications quickly. It was interesting for me. Thanks!
