I was glad to hear many questions referring to Philadelphia as well as America this time. Mr. Kovacsics gave us a clear presentation comparing the similar points between Nagoya and Philadelphia, so it's easy for me to grasp the image of the city. During the question time, some Japanese (APU) students were worried about the safety of particular cities in the US regarding the possession of guns. But I felt a kind of relief to hear that the APU teacher has never possessed or even touched guns, ever. We need to have enough time to change our attitude towards the real American society.

Mr. Kovacsics' speech was easy to listen because he spoke clearly. There were many connections between Nagoya and Philadelphia, so I was surprised. The funny similarity was Nagoya-tobashi and Philly-tobashi. Both Nagoya and Philadelphia are between two big cities. Before I listened to this lecture, what I had known was only about cream cheese. I learned about Philadelphia.

Thanks to your wonderful lecture today. I learned much more about Philadelphia such as its geography, history, nickname ‘City of Brotherly Love’ and so on. What I most enjoyed in this lecture was the Nagodelphia Connection!! I found out common things between Nagoya and Philadelphia. Before the lecture, I wouldn’t have expected there to be many similarities between them. Thanks to this lecture, I became more interested in America and someday I hope to study there.

I really enjoyed his speech. His speech had good tempo, so I really became absorbed by it. I loved his unique sense of making a combination name between Philadelphia and Nagoya: Nagodelphia. By the way, today's speech finished earlier than usual, so we could ask more questions and make conversation with him. Although the speech topic was so much fun, we asked him some pretty serious questions. Nevertheless, he answered these questions in a very friendly and witty way without being uncomfortable. The speech time was very good opportunity and experience for us.

I didn't know Philadelphia and Nagoya have a lot in common. It was interesting to know some of the common features. Mr. Kovacsics can speak many languages, so I want to follow his example. I want to acquire many languages like him and use these languages efficiently in the future. So, today's lecture was a good opportunity to know how to acquire languages. In addition, thanks to today's lecture, I felt motivated to study.

'The guns in America' has been a very big concern for Japanese people from the past to the present. I've never been to America, so I don't know what the reality is regarding guns in America. Thanks to him, now I have an image that guns are not as dangerous as I had imagined. But this is still my image. Today, I learned the background behind the existence of guns in America. So I'm very appreciative of him.

I think Mr. Kovacsics has a flexible way of thinking. That's wonderful. He said what is important for studying foreign languags is to communicate with other people. I think so, too. But it is a little difficult for me because speaking to others requires courage. I want to try hard to communicate. He knows a lot. Maybe he has experienced many more things than other people. It is necessary for us to watch, visit, study and listen to learn foreign cultures.

This lecture was so interesting for me because there were some topics I studied or I'm really interested in that were discussed. Above all, I was able to know about the present condition of American social problems. I have been interested in them because some American dramas, movies, or music reflect the American problems like homelessness, social security, HIV, LGBT and so on. This lecture enabled me to get some perspectives about social problems from the American side, which made me want to try to study about American society from the American and Japanese sides.

This was my first time to know the deep reason why Americans started to own a gun. I admire their courage to fight against the government. I'm now aware that America really has a long and important history. I felt happy to hear that foreigners will want to come back to Japan once they visit here. I'm proud of my country.

Today, we had a lot of question time, so I could learn about him and the U.S. I couldn't ask a question, but I could hear what I wanted to ask. He said he learned foreign languages for different reasons, such as family, schools, work, and so on. I really envy his environment, so I would like to work in a company where I have a chance to go abroad or use foreign languages. And, I want to go to the U.S. someday. One of my dreams is to work in the U.S.!!
