Canada is a country far from Japan geographically. However we have a good, especially industrial, relationship. When I was 12 years old, I went to Vancouver Island, thanks to a project of the AICHI EXPO in 2005. We saw killer whales, forests and so on. In Canada, Nature is protected very well. The opposite, industrialization is happening in Japan. We have to develop ways to protect Nature in Japan. "Think globally, act locally." It is the phrase I studied in Canada.

According to Mr. Fraser's presentation, we've learned Canada accounts for many natural resources, especially liquid gas. Nowadays, many people have paid attention to alternative resources, so the Japanese government should cooperate with Canada and contribute to the decline of the burden of global warming. In addition, many products come from Canada. Through this presentation, I became interested in Canada. I would like to study more about the relationships between Japan and Canada.

People who work abroad are my idol. I have been wanting to work abroad in the future for a long time. Mr Fraser said that working abroad is not always a party or exciting. It's true that they gained something from their job, but they also don't have the opportunity of going to a family Birthday Party or visiting a sick relative back home. They have to accept they might miss something important. Through this lecture, I learned not only about Canada but also about a different perspective of the job of a consul.

I was surprised that 80% of the Canadian population live near the border. Today, Japan has a serious problem about the education of immigrants, particularly for children from South America. We don't have the experience about educating children who can't speak Japanese, so it is very difficult and complicated to teach them. Canada has been welcoming immigrants. I think that the government of Japan should ask Canada to show them the program of education because Canada and Japan are closely connected.

One thing the speaker said that I really sympathized with is that many Japanese people still do not know about Canadian culture, government, historical events, etc. I visited Canada few years ago, and enjoyed various delicious foods in Ontario and Prince Edward Island. So I also wish for more Japanese people to become interested in Canada. In addition, I noticed a difference or situation between Japan and Canada from today's explanation. Japan is a country that has a large population but small area. And, Canada has a large area with a smaller population. So, if these two countries keep a good relationship for long time, I think both countries could solve many of their social problems by cooperating with each other.

Since I'm planning to study in Canada, today's lecture helped me a lot. I'm especially very interested in the Working Holiday program. I think it is a great opportunity for exchange students to learn various things, not only in the classroom, but also out of the classroom. So, I'll take it into account when I plan my study abroad experience. Also, the relationship between Canada and Japan is very wonderful, so both countries should continue to develop it in various kinds of fields.

I found it very interesting how Mr Fraser described himself as Mr Canada because of the way he represents Canada when he meets Japanese who don't know much about Canada. I lived in England for four years because of my father's job, and from that experience I am interested in working abroad. If I do, I would like to be careful about how I act so that I can show that Japanese are nice people. Thank you for a wonderful presentation. It was very interesting!

I didn't know about the official relationship between Canada and Japan. I'm moved by Canada's help when the earthquake happened in 2011. Japan also should help one day, and I want to do something for Canada in return. But, I feel Japanese and Canadians don't know about each other's cultures very well. I want to know about Canadian culture, famous singers and so on, and I hope Japanese culture will spread more in Canada.

Recently, I watched "Hanako to Anne", so I became interested in Canada. In addition, I do not know much about consulates, so there are many things I heard for the first time. I was especially interested in the topic of Canada's industry. I only had the image of nature for Canada. However, to know that this country has a lot of IT companies, like BlackBerry, made me interested in Canadian industry, especially mobile phones. It was also interesting learning about the job of consulates. I was very surprised by the incident about March 11, 2011.

To be honest, I was not familiar with Canada at all before this presentation. I used to be more interested in Britain and America than Canada. But, through this presentation, I learned a lot of about Canadian culture, the relations between Japan and Canada and so on. So, I came to be interested in Canada. Now, I want to know and learn about Canada. By the way, I major in French Studies. So, going to Canada to study is one option for me because I can learn two interesting languages at the same time. I was very glad to listen to his presentation.
