It was really enjoyable for me to listen to Ms. Hattori's speech today, because I am interested in English education and have been studying it in University. Sometimes, I feel afraid of teaching students in English, but her speech about her experience encouraged me and gave me an idea to just enjoy teaching English to children. When I go to high school to practice teaching, I will try to enjoy the experience.

I really enjoyed her talk. I was attracted not only by her English but also by her experiences. I was very surprised when I heard that she studied at this university while she was working. I understood how difficult it was for her to both study and work. However, she succeeded and she made her dream come true, so I thought she was a tough person. Now, I haven't decided my exact dream yet, but today I realized that I have many kinds of doors around me. So I decided not to give up on anything and I will always try to do my best.

Up to now, I have had many doors to choose from and to open. And I will have more in the future. The biggest decision of my life was to study Spanish. It means I applied to Kendai. Last year I studied Spanish in Santiago de Compostela, in Spain. It was also a big decision in my life. I had never lived alone. I took some classes in the university. Students were all Spanish except me. Actually, this experience made me strong. So, from now on, I would like to choose my future direction.

I was very surprised that she had a lot of doors to choose from to make one decision. Every time I make a big decision, I try to choose the one which is not risky. After her lecture I felt that I shouldn't do that. Now I know that I have to accept challenges, and that there are possibilities for each person.

Since I'm now in my 3rd year, I've been thinking about what work I should do after graduating. I want to be a teacher in a high school, but I don't want to teach boring grammar. Listening to this lecture, it made me realize that there are lots of different kinds of English teachers and you can teach English in various ways. This time I will try to open one of the doors and see what will happen.

I think finding doors is difficult for me because now I don't know what I want to do. So, from now, I want to think about some options. The speaker said she made a few plans and if she thought plan 1 was bad, she changed quickly to plan 2. So I think making some plans helps me to overcome my failures. Listening to her lecture, I want to try new things and not be afraid of failing. I feel studying abroad is good for me to change my life and way of thinking. So I want to study abroad like her.

What I learned through the lecture was "Don't think too much. It is never late to do something new. If you have chosen the wrong door, just close it and try another one". I've been agonizing over whether to stay in Japan and study or go abroad and study language. Ms. Hattori's lecture has given me a guiding principle. Today, I decided to give it a try and go abroad.

What I learned from today's lecture is the importance of trying something new. Sometimes we don't try something we really want to because of a lack of self-confidence. However, we should get rid of this feeling and do anything we would like to. I hope I can have more opportunities and challenge them positively.

Listening to the presentation, I thought that Mrs. Noriko Hattori is a very brave woman. When I make big decisions that can change my life. I often feel scared to make mistakes. However, it seemed like Mrs. Noriko Hattori was never afraid to take on challenges. Thank you for a wonderful presentation. I will remember: it is never too late to try something new.

交換留学生 1年

I am a foreign student at Kendai, and I can relate to a lot of things that were said at this seminar. I come to learn Japanese at Kendai and to have this experience of living abroad outside Brazil. I can also relate to the difficulty of learning to use a foreign language all the time, but somehow this is a very good and unique experience in my life. I want to teach Japanese in Brazil or Portuguese to foreigners, or help Brazilian people in Japan.
