Thank you for your great speech and such a beautiful song! This is the most impressive lecture I've ever had in this class. Your English is really clear and easy to understand. And you gave us courage to speak English as you expected: "Don't hesitate to speak." I keep this word in my mind. Once I lost my confidence in English because one of my American friends said my pronunciation was awful, perfectly Japanese-English. I couldn't speak English for a month. But after that another friend of mine said my English sound was really cute---vowels in particular. He told me that the most important thing is not to speak fluently like a native speaker, but to express correctly what I want to say. Now, I'm proud of my English pronunciation!

I really enjoyed this lesson! I thought that understanding various kinds of English is very difficult. Maybe it means English spreads all over the world. I was interested in important documents. Recently, WikiLeaks is a problem in the world. I wonder what Mr.Sasaki thinks about it. Finally, I was really surprised at his singing! He is a very good singer, I thought!

I appreciate listening to our president's presentation. He said his best subject was English, and so was mine. So, I entered this university and started learning a foreign language. The first language I study is Spanish now, but I think that becoming much better in my English is important. The place I want to visit most is the English-speaking world. He experienced many things in foreign countries. I envy it. He went abroad long time ago, but his English is good, so I thought that studying abroad is necessary. He sings very well and I was moved by it. I wanted to hear more of his songs. I'm glad to hear that.

I'm impressed with his phrase, "Don't hesitate to speak English." When I was in the 1st grade of high school, I went to the UK for studying. It was only a three-week stay, but I got lots of important things. And today, I remembered them. When I was at Oxford, I couldn't communicate well with my host family. At a language school, I talked with Japanese friends in Japanese. I think it doesn't make me grow up. Now, I'm thinking about studying abroad again. I don't want to make the same mistakes. The next time I go abroad, I'll remember his phrase. By the way, I'm also moved by his beautiful voice!

It's difficult for me to pronounce "LL" or British pronunciation. I have been studying "American English," so I feel sometimes British English is difficult for me to listen to. Your good experience is meaningful and important in your life, I think. And pictures were interesting. These days, I have started to exchange emails with foreigners on the Internet. Writing English is hard for me, but it's delightful to do it. Thank you for singing a song for us in your beautiful voice!

I learned about Cockney in a class before. When I heard Cockney for the first time, I couldn't understand at all (I still can't understand now). And I practiced pronouncing Cockney, but it was very difficult. I can't believe they speak Cockney in London. I don't think Cockney is not English. So surprising! Also, when I heard Welsh for the first time, I thought of the same thing with Cockney. Language is very funny. Thank you. I must try harder. "Don't hesitate to speak English even if you can't do so fluently."

[TITLE] My Language Experience in Britain: Troubles and Findings
The speaker gave me courage. He has the ability to make up his mind. It is very difficult for me to change my major. Moreover, he gave me a message "Don't hesitate to speak." In Britain, English accents are different in each area. I had studied Cockney English before. It is very difficult to understand and speak. But I want to speak English positively in some places.

I heard Mr. Sasaki's interesting and unique stories today, so I sometimes laughed at them. I thought there are many kinds of accents or dialects in Britain. I want to listen to some of them and compare. Also, he has a lot of jokes: for example, when he went to Britain for the first time, he experienced not "language trouble" but "luggage trouble." By the time I die, I want to go to Britain and have a lot of experiences there!

His pronunciation is very easy to listen to. I want to speak English well. Today I realized that it is more important not to be afraid of speaking than to know many words or to speak fluently. Just like him, I like listening to foreign music very much. I think that music is good to improve pronunciation. I'll listen to music more and want to brush up my English. I want to be a person who is willing to use English.

[TITLE] Our school president's language experience
Today we had a great presentation and a Christmas concert. Mr. Sasaki has a good experience and he is fun. I felt that he likes teaching very much. I heard some experience about various English through some friends who had been to foreign countries. So, I know that there are many pronunciations in English. I went to an English school before I entered high school, and I was taught by an English teacher. She also said there are various kinds of English in her country. I think the UK is a very interesting country. I want to go there someday.

I think pronunciation is important because we understand by listening to the pronunciation when we talk with someone. But are there more important things? I've heard that if our pronunciation is bad, English speaker can't understand what we say. I don't think so because there are many people who speak English. So their pronunciation must be various. There are many problems in traveling, going abroad, studying and jobs...etc. Our life is full of problems! But we shouldn't be afraid or hesitate. You have only to do your best!

[TITLE] Various Kinds of English
This is my first time to attend Mr.Sasaki's class. I was so happy to be here. His lecture had such a friendly atmosphere. Through his lecture, I could understand that there are various kinds of English again. I felt it is important for people to try to have communication not only though language but also though personality. His song was a Christmas present for me. His voice was so beautiful!!

First of all, I would like to applaud his performance. He's got such a beautiful voice and a wonderful talent. Until today, I didn't have any chance to get to know the president of our university, so it was a precious time. The way he talks and his humor attracted us today. I should have asked him about which alcohol is the best to encourage people to speak English fluently based on his experience.

Because the photos of Britain are beautiful, I want to visit there. I'm planning to study abroad in Britain. I'm looking forward to visiting there. I like singing songs too. So I want to pronounce English words very well.

When I learn a foreign language, I don't think about dialects. But in other countries there are dialects like in Japan. I major in Spanish. It is spoken in many countries. But I don't know how different these dialects are. Many people think Queen's English is the most elegant English. Like this case, I wan't to learn the Spanish spoken in Spain. But the study of dialects interests me very much.
