感想

TITLE

I really enjoyed today’s lecture, as a student studying English, I agree with her a lot about translating something into another language is really hard, especially Japanese into English, because Japanese expressions are very unique. If I translate it literally, most of the time it really sounds weird, so I guess it is better to think harder on how they will feel about what you want to tell them.

The difference between English and Japanese is interesting. I could understand how to tell my opinion to native Americans. I thought that translators never break deadlines is too hard. But it is important never to break deadlines at all work. So I thought I have to finish my homework before deadlines come. Your speech was unique and interesting! Thank you!

I’m interested in a translator’s job. So, I was very happy to attend today’s class! I understood good things and bad things about this job. I think I have to improve my English ability more and more. Besides, I must study the Japanese language!! I have to study English, French and Japanese…….

I could realize the makings to be a good translator. I used to be interested in the job of the translator. However, I didn’t know the contents of jobs well at the time. Now, I could understand the needs to be a translator. I like translating English to Japanese, but I don’t have enough skill to do it, so I have to make an effort to have a good skill to use English (and of course Japanese).

I understood the importance of native languages in translation. I’m Japanese. So, I can speak and write Japanese easily. But I think that Japanese is so difficult for foreign people. I was very surprised to know that translation is different between Google and translators.

I really enjoyed Ms. Kinoshita’s presentation. Her English was easy to hear so I could understand everything. I am interested in the job of translation and I’m taking a kind of lecture. I learned that to become an interpreter or to become a bilingual is very hard and need making extra special effort. I respect Ms. Kinoshita. I could think about examples which she showed us, like “hot,” “American,” “evaluation” and so on. That’s fun! I also like her presentation because of a lot of pictures which are on each sheet. So cute!

In this lecture, she talked about the translation of technical terms. It is even confusing in Japanese, I thought. So, I feel that it is really difficult to translate a language to another language especially technical terms. Lost time and this time, I was able to hear the lecture about “commercial” translations, so I want to hear about literary translations too.

Today’s lecture is so interesting. There are many differences between Japanese daily conversation and English grammar. I was surprised that the examples of misunderstanding. There will be the same difficult point in Japanese-English translation. I want to get a variety of experiences and express my opinion to other people in English.

Today, I learned about the job of a translator. I know that the job is closely related to languages and it is difficult to become. However, what I learned today is definitely different aspects of the job. The speech about the real experience was very interesting and very helpful for me because I want to work using foreign languages.

I think I’ve learnt a lot from Marian’s speech, because I’m thinking about becoming an interpreter or translator, but it does sound very different and I have to do and study a lot for it. For me, English and Japanese are hard to improve. I’m kind of stuck in the level. However, for now, I think I can work something out. And I totally agree about what Marian said, that is to experience more. I wish I could travel or study in English-speaking countries one day.

I know that to be a translator is very difficult. Translators have deadlines. So they always have pressure to finish their job. But I came to be interested in translators. I am studying Spanish in this university. So if I have a chance, I want to translate some books from Japanese into Spanish, and of course into English.

I was lucky to have an opportunity to listen to a translator’s experiences and advice because I’m interested in it. In my English class, I like to translate some sentences of the story (from Japanese to English). I heard from my native English teacher that translation is art, and art takes time. My translating always takes time but I enjoy it. I like to think about how I can make English sound nice and natural. So it sounds hard for me to translate at a rapid pace as a professional translator. But I’ll enjoy translating.

A translator is one of most interesting jobs to me, so this lecture has many benefits for me. For example, a good translator must handle tight deadlines or handle rejection. I guess a translator is a very hard job, but a very good job. I belong to the Spanish Studies Department, but of course I’m studying English too. So I want to become a person who can use both foreign languages and Japanese very well. And I will work abroad.

I’m interested in the job of a translator. It’s very wonderful to speak two languages. I want to become bilingual in the future. What’s better, I want to speak more languages. Now, many people can speak English. Speaking English in normal, so I’d like to speak another language, except for English.

I could learn about translation. Before I listened to your speech, I only know that a translator is busy and hard, but after I heard your lecture, I could understand the positive aspects of translators. Especially, I remembered that translating is fast-paced, fascinating and frustrating. I’m really glad to hear about translation. So, I’d like to incorporate the translator in my job choices. Thank you for your wonderful speech. I enjoyed it very much. I want to take your lesson someday.
