TITLE:Sea urchin in Japan History and Fishery

I could get information about sea urchin. I was very surprised that there are colorful sea urchins like red ones. I have never seen so many sea urchins as today. And some of your sea urchins photos made me hungry as you said. I thought I want to try eating some sea urchin dishes, especially “uni meshi”. Next, I have studied biology using a larval sea urchin picture in my high school. I was interested in the mechanism of the sea urchin body. It is mysterious, isn't it? I enjoyed today's lecture. Thank you for speaking.

TITLE:Sea urchin in Japan History and Fishery

The surprising thing is that the sea urchin tests were excavated from kitchen middens. They were eaten from a long time ago in Japan. And the sea urchin called “GanGaze” is very dangerous, because it has poison. The sea urchin is almost taken at Hokkaido!! I found that it's very difficult to take it into the sea. During fishmen search it with the face put into the sea, they manage about with their feet!! Today, I knew the history of the sea urchin. In Japan, there are many foods with it. But the total number of the sea urchin is reducing…:( We need to protect the environment of the sea!!

TITLE:Sea urchin in Japan

I have never eaten sea urchin in my life. But today I could see the nice meal “Spaghetti con rich”. When I visit France, I should try this dish to know how nice sea urchin tastes. As you say, we Japanese have such a great rich food culture. We can't miss it. By the way, to have strong motivation is necessary for me, too. I will continue my study hard and get my target for sure, Thank you.

TITLE

I'm afraid that I don't like sea urchin so I can't eat it. Any way, I haven't been interested in sea urchin so this lecture is very fresh to me, but I couldn't understand clearly what you wanted to tell us. But I think you are a hard worker and enjoy studying a lot of things, in addition, you seem to be enjoying and taking proud in your life!! I want to become a man who can be proud of something. You said “My English is poor.” but I don't think so. This is because I thought if we have spoken with eagerness, people could also listen to your speech eagerly.

TITLE

I learned about sea urchins in my biology classes. I learned about it in Japanese high school, and when I went to the US as an exchange student, my biology teacher taught me about sea urchins to explain cell division, too. Since then I had thought that the sea urchins are the creature which has really simple construction of body and I had thought that's why teachers everywhere teach about sea urchins. After this class, I learned that sea urchins are really interesting creatures and there is a long history of biologists studying about it. “Don't be shy, be aggressive”. We have a really short life, so I don't want to miss any opportunities God gives. To make my life great, I want to be aggressive and I will. "Practice in forced conditions" I really agree with this. I think it's really different to study English in Japan and in the countries where people use English in their dairy life. We can learn the REAL language and it's more fun because we have lots of opportunities to use English and we can try and use the new words you just learned right after you get the words!!

TITLE

Thank you very much for your speech. Today, We learned about “Sea urchin in Japan History and Fishery.” First, I was surprised to hear your violin, which is so great!! I learned to play the violin too before. As for “Sea urchin”, I was surprised that they are not eggs, that is to say, “not true roes”, but roes. It's very difficult and mysterious to understand!! Next, I was surprised that “sea urchin” is described in ancient documents in Japan. And I was also surprised that there're various kinds of “sea urchin”. And I learned that from ancient times, Japanese people have had been familiar with “sea urchin”. And also, I was surprised that like Japanese food, French food and Italian food have cuisine using “sea urchin”. I thought European people don't eat “sea urchin” like octopus until this lecture. I would like to eat “sea urchin” cuisine in Europe someday. Today's lecture was very exciting because I like “sea urchins” very much. I could find that there's a long history between “sea urchins” and Japanese people. Thank you very much.

TITLE

I didn't know this much about sea urchins because I don't like sea urchins. Actually… I had never tasted them because the appearance makes me feel sick. But then, when I saw the picture of the dishes of sea urchins, I really wanted to taste them even though I hate sea urchins. I would like to try them someday. I thought I could understand what Mr. Yokota said but I didn't remember when Rob gave us some quizzes. I think it was because I was using a dictionary too much because the words he said were really new for me. I won't use it too much next time.

TITLE

Mr. Yokota told us about sea urchins in Japan. I love sea urchins and other fishery products. But, I did not know about them minutely. He told me how to say Uni in Europe. I major in French as a second language. Today, I was interested in the names of fish in French, and of course in English. “Life span of sea urchins” was interesting for me, I like biology. I often saw it in an illustrated reference guide to biology. I felt his love for sea urchins. To love something deeply is important for our life. Mr. Yokota's Italian was really wonderful, he spoke fluently. This lecture has many special words for me, so it is difficult for me to understand without a dictionary. I'd like to enrich my vocabulary.

TITLE

It was very interesting to know about sea urchins, as I didn't have almost any knowledge about them before. There were some difficult special words and expressions to understand, but thanks to the translation into Japanese or pictures, I understood everything. Because I work at a sushi shop and see sea urchins very often, it was nice to know about the process about how they are produced and also some delicious food with sea urchins.

TITLE

It seems strange that Japanese started to love meat more than fish and more foreigners started to love fish more and more. In Japan, in the old days, the sea urchin was special food and was a food for a special day like new year's day. Now we see them even in a sushi bar, but what is interesting is that the sushi of the sea urchin was invented just 150 years ago. And also I was surprised the sea urchin is used in Italian food! Even if it's really delicious, we have to think about damage to them. Many species became extinct because of us. We must think carefully and act carefully. I believe people will save species, not destroy them.

TITLE

I have never eaten sea urchin roes in my life but I know Japan is one of the countries that consume sea urchin roes in a large number. Based on the data, the domestic production is decreasing year after year and this condition might destroy the synchrony of the sea environment. I think besides taking sea urchin roes in a large number, we have to consider a way to keep them existing so we can get protein for our diet while keeping our environment from damage.
I was surprised that it needs 3 years for sea urchin roes to be ready to sell. If I had a chance, I would like to try umimeshi because it looks tasty. It is interesting how Japan creates many kinds of food from sea urchin roes.

I've never seen sea urchins alive, and never eaten it at a sushi shop, but next time I go to the shop I'll try to eat it. Mr. Yokota said that Japanese have eaten sea urchins for a long time, so I wonder how the people ate sea urchin because it looks a little weird and its tests are very dangerous, so I wondered how they knew how delicious sea urchin was. I was surprised that sea urchins can move. I thought they just drift in the waves. The number of sea urchins decreases year by year according to the graph. Sea urchins are just one of the sea creatures, but its number and ecology tell us the changes in the sea environment, I thought.
