TITLE
Thank you for your interesting lecture. You said that the first day was the worst day when you studied at Shawnee Mission East High school for the first time. This was because you couldn't understand what the teacher said at all. I have the same experience as you. When I came to Japan to study Japanese, I couldn't understand what the teacher said at all. I felt very nervous. Then I agree with you that we should know the culture better before you study, So that you can understand what the people say.

TITLE
Today's topic is very interesting. I learnt that good English can increase our career opportunities and our knowledge about other countries. Toyota is a big company and I am sure there are many graduate students who are dreaming to be Toyota's new comer. I agree with Mr. Ito that the most important in learning a language is trying to understand it. Mr. Ito's presentation today inspired me to improve my English more and more. I wish I can be as successful as him in my future.

TITLE
It's clear that the cultures are different between Japan and other countries so changing strategy of selling, buying and so on are important and necessary. I leaned it through this lecture. I was also impressed by the story that his colleagues couldn't understand what he said at first. But a few months later his colleagues could do it, because he knew the contents of what he wanted to express. I felt even if the speaking is poor, we can communicate with each other to understand the contents, communication gaps and cultures.

TITLE
Now I major in British and American Studies, and learn the history of English or practicing speaking and writing. However, through listening to Mr. Ito's lecture, I thought only learning is not a real goal. English is a communication tool. Giving our opinions or understanding others in English is the most important, especially on business. I want to brush up my English ability, and become a person who is needed by great companies like Toyota.

"English is a communication tool" I often hear these words. When we are working, these words will really make sense I think. At work, we have to tell something to the dealers. I think that's really hard. I can't do that. Today I was really happy to hear this presentation because I could know how to use language.

TITLE
Maybe many Japanese like their country Japan, but I can't say "I love Japan" clearly. It doesn't mean that I hate Japanese culture and its beautiful viewpoints. I like them. What I dislike is the character of Japanese people. They always make some groups and hate loneliness. Have you ever felt like this?

TITLE
I agree that it's a necessity to know about our own country, Japan when you want to understand or learn about other countries. As we want to know about other countries, people in foreign countries are interested in Japan, too. When I went to the US and talked with my friends, I was asked a lot about Japan. I could answer most of the questions, but sometimes I couldn't. The most embarrassing moment was when I was asked the name of the prime minister in Japan and I couldn't answer. I had heard that the Japanese prime minister had changed while I was in the US, but I just couldn't remember his name. My friends looked like they were surprised. It's really weird for them that I didn't know the leader of my own country. That's why I think learning about out own country is important and I'm going to learn more about Japan for the next time when I visit different countries. I think this is one of the most important preparations for going abroad.

Today, I took the lecture of Mr. Ito, who is a general manager in Toyota Motor Manufacturing. He has an experience of studying abroad in America. When he was in America, he was forced to speak English. Although he made many mistakes, he brushed up his English skill thanks to them. And he said English is a global communication tool. In fact, in the case of Toyota, there is an improvement in the learning rate of new employees' TOEIC test level, by 25% in 15 years. I also think English is important for communication all over the world. So I'll try to improve my English skill.

Thank you for giving the wonderful lecture. I think his experience of much work in many posts and in many places influence his life and TOYOTA well. His English is very fluent, so I was stimulated so much. His story of staying in America was also interesting. I'd like to study English harder through the English class and studying abroad. Through this lecture, that "understanding and agreement is different" was especially impressive. I have to express my opinion positively, and I want to communicate with foreign people in English.

TITLE
I felt I had a great chance to listen to the experience of working overseas. I was impressed by a story that Mr. Ito went bowling with Americans. I have been abroad and could not understand what people were saying. However, I tried to listen carefully and foreigners spoke slowly for me so I could understand. I think it is important to try to understand and to have identity as a Japanese. I want to explain my home country Japan.

You said that we need to know about our own country to understand other countries. I agree with you. I felt that it is very important, when I went to Korea to get to know more about Korean culture and history. I went to a prison Japanese army made to jail Koreans who wanted to make Korea independent. It was a very terrible place. I was surprised at what Japanese army did. The things we learn in the classes in Japanese high school are very different from those in Korean high school. I thought I have to try to study harder.

Thank you for your presentation. My father is also in the car business, and when I was small I moved to America because of his job. I had the same experience as you. I couldn't speak English at all. All of my classmates didn't speak to me. But as I spoke English every day and it improved little by little. Learning a language needs practice. It was interesting for me to hear about Toyota company. It has plants all over the world. It was very enjoyable listening to your presentation.

First, I felt to be lucky to be able to listen to the lecture given by a general manager of Toyota Motor Cooperation. As Mr. Ito said, I think we should be "forced" to speak English if we want to be able to speak it fluently. According to his lecture, I guess there are enormous things to improve Toyota company. I want to be a person who work actively in the frontlines of both overseas and within Japan like Mr. Ito.

TITLE
Through today's seminar, I learned the very high quality of how Toyota is expanding their markets to the outside of Japan, how Toyota is keeping both the working skill and English skill high. I realized again that Toyota is one of the best companies that Japanese can be proud of. As I would like to use English in my job in the future, I will keep in mind what Mr. Ito told us in the last part of this seminar. Thank you very much.
